precision load cell

A precision load cell is a highly sensitive instrument designed to measure the mechanical force and translate it into accurate electrical signals. This instrument is high precision operated by strain gauge technique where special sensor detects and measures small variation in mechanical stress. The transducer is a shaped metallic body with strain gages bonded on which deform when force is applied. In response to applied force, these gauges reverse direction changes of this resistance, converted into electrical signals. These signals are Magnified and Conditioned to obtain extremely accurate force readings. Precision load cells are made in various configurations and sizes, temperature compensated often included with either electromagnetic or fluid dampening in addition to with or without environmental sealing. They are widely used in many applications including industrial, laboratory and QC testing.

Popular Products

LDTs have many attractive features, which have made them indispensable in today's measurement and control applications. Their noncontact measurement effectively reduces wear, which improves operational life and reduces downtime. Made with high precision, thus now you can easily perform all your repeatable measurements in their various industrial applications without compromising the accuracy. The actual real time feed back is the ability for the system to to instantly respond to positional changes such as having an automated system or precision quality control based on the sensors. Their robustness and ability to withstand the effects of environmental aspects such as Electromagnetic Interference (EMI), shock and temperature variations make them reliable to operate in various conditions. Digital, Analog and Fieldbus interfaces, makes them to be integrted with control systems and data recording devices with no problem. The lack of moving parts in addition to the designs of most modern ones make them virtually maintenance free and generally more reliable and long lasting than any other type. These transducers have high resolution and on occasion are capable of micro accuracy and stability over long periods of time. Thanks to their small size and versatile mounting options, they are particularly suited for space restricted applications. The instruments are low maintenance and need only be calibrated occasionally. They enable the possibility of scaling in a wide range of measurement from fraction of millimeter to several meters, so that they can be applied to different applications. The fast response time and high sampling rate make it possible to better monitor rapid position changes, required in the case of dynamic control systems. In addition, they are energy efficient and consume low power, which cuts down on operating costs and environmental impact.

Superior Measurement Accuracy and Stability

Superior Measurement Accuracy and Stability

The excellent measuring accuracy of the high-precision load cell is based on innovative strain gauge technology and proven signal processing. Every unit is individually calibrated under closely controlled conditions to guarantee accuracy to within 0.03% of full scale. The custom metal structure has been built with more than one strain-gauged located in strategic locations in order to counteract off-centre loading effects. Temperature compensation circuitry constantly reacts to thermal effects and therefore ensures a stable measurement in any work environment. Measuring stability is long term, generalizedized hysteresis, while the mechanical hysteresis and the visco-elastic creep are minimized. This unparalleled level of precision and stability allows for exact process control and quality assurance in a multitude of applications.
Advanced Digital Integration Capabilities

Advanced Digital Integration Capabilities

New generation precision load cells offer advanced digital interface technology that can completely transform your measurement system. On-chip analog-to-digital converters output high-resolution digital data without the need of external conversion. Standard communication protocol allows for easy integration with current control systems. The digital interface provides additional features such as auto-calibration, diagnostics, and data-logging. Several load cells can be wired in series to measure large forces in compressive mode. The digital design features a much higher noise immunity than conventional analog systems, which allows utilization in "noisy" industrial applications.
Versatile Application Adaptability

Versatile Application Adaptability

Precision load cells are highly adaptable to a wide range of applications and surroundings. Their modular construction enables a wide variety of mounting options making them easy to install into your existing system. A sealed design, usually rated to a minimum of IP67, provides the confidence and assurance to work in dust, moisture and even chemical-soaked conditions. Various capacities in the same physical form factor allows standardization across the measurement requirements. Both static and dynamic measurements are available on the devices, to meet differing process requirements. Due to their small dimension and standardized output signals they are easy to be replaced for system upgrades without exchanging the complete system.
